As a non-profit organization, the Connecticut's FFA
Foundation’s mission is “to provide financial support
through education for the future of Connecticut's
agriculture as an industry” and to increase funding to
develop, maintain and enhance the initiatives of the
Connecticut FFA organization. The Connecticut FFA Foundation is affiliated with The National FFA Organization and supports both The Connecticut FFA Association and The Connecticut Association of Agricultural Educators (CAAE).
History
The Connecticut FFA Foundation was established as a
501(c)(3) non-profit foundation in 1991 to support the needs
of agricultural education and the FFA. The Foundation has
become important to the success of agricultural education
and the FFA in Connecticut.
Structure
The Connecticut FFA Foundation is governed by a Board of
Directors that is composed of agricultural business/industry
representatives, agricultural education teachers, the
current FFA members and Alumni, and the Foundation's
Executive Secretary. Additional members include
representatives from the Connecticut FFA Association and the
Connecticut Departments of Agriculture and Education. The
Board of Directors develops policies and establishes
long-term goals and priorities for the Foundation.
• The Foundation relies on the efforts of the Board’s volunteer Sponsor and Special Events Committees, consisting of business and industry leaders, to assist with securing financial support and coordinating special fundraising activities.
