CONNECTICUT FFA RECOGNITON PROGRAM
2006-7
The Connecticut FFA Foundation, Inc. is
sponsoring the following activities and events for Connecticut FFA
members who are dues paying members prior to the scheduled activity.
- State Proficiency Awards – Up to 51 state
awards may be presented from the National FFA Foundation
dependent upon applications receiving and the results of such
scoring. Each award is $250.00 and is presented at the State
FFA Convention in June.
- Leadership Career Development Events – The
following awards will be presented to outstanding qualifying
students in the following areas:

- The foundation will recognize the top
three winners with cash awards and plaques for the following
Career Development Events. All other contestants will be
provided a certificate which chapter advisors may download from
the
www.ctffa.org web site. Cash awards; 1st - $100;
2nd - $50; 3rd - $25. The top ranked team
in each CDE will receive a plaque, except as noted below. The 1st
place team qualifies for BIG E and National competition – though
no travel money is provided at this time. The State FFA
Foundation covers the registration entry fee for all teams
attending the National FFA Convention and the State FFA
Association covers the entry fee for the BIG E teams. BIG E

**Not run as a separate CDE but 2nd
place team from Ag Sales qualifies or 1st place team for
this event to go to Nationals.
- Each State FFA Officer completing a full
term of office in the Connecticut FFA Association will receive a
$200.00 Recognition Scholarship at the State FFA Convention.
- Other State Recognitions – The Foundation
will provide stipends for those accepted for National chorus,
band and talent (up to $300.00 is allotted and will be prorated
among those who perform at the National FFA Convention. No
stipend is to exceed $100.00. The National FFA Officer
Candidate will receive $100.00.
- District Recognitions – students
participating in the district career development events will
receive a certificate of recognition for their accomplishments.
These certificates will be available online and available for
the advisor to download and complete for presentation.
- All students receiving
incentives/awards/stipends from the Connecticut FFA Foundation
must be FFA members in good standing prior to being selected or
competing in an event.
- Three scholarships will be awarded by the
Connecticut FFA Foundation, Inc. The Henry Olson – $250.00; Pete
Hughes/Betty Williams Scholarship - $500.00 and the FFA
Scholarship - $500.00. (Presented at State FFA Convention).
